The carnival ride that is my mind

I just realized something that I was only acutely aware of. I realized it fully at the beginning of the McGuffin Mysteries as I was thinking about who would be a good Brittany.
The first face I saw was Brittany, the cheerleader in Daria ( yes, I'm THAT old). From there, I worked her into a real person.
The character of Will started in my head as Flynn from Tangled, but not Zachary Levi, strangely enough. I had written down a name. Whoever he was, it's meaningless now. While channel surfing one day, I passed The Office, and Jim Halpert made a funny face at me, then there were two. I asked Maria (Geraci). She voted. I had a leading man. I took everything I got from reading character descriptions, and I drove Maria insane asking for advice, and running my ideas past her. Most of the time she just gave me enough time to figure it out on my own.
In a book I've just started one of the characters is a mean boss. I immediately thought of Lady Tremaine. She's too old though, but it gave me a good jumping off point. Anjelica Houston was Drew Barrymore's stepmother in Ever After. Though, I think this boss is younger... Anne Hathaway came to mind, and she knows a thing or two about being a mean boss, but still, she's too wholesome. This book DOES NOT say the mean boss doesn't have any one kind accent which leads me to...
Come back to find out about Mallory's boss, in like December; once all 6 books in this series have been released, and read.
